Productized Consulting for CMS-0057-F Readiness
Productized Consulting for CMS-0057-F Readiness
Tessara is best known as a Go binary that probes FHIR APIs and emits cryptographically signed conformance verdicts. Today we are formalizing the consulting work that has been happening alongside the product since the start, and putting it on the website with prices, timelines, and deliverables you can read without booking a call.
Why a productized practice, and why now
CMS-0057-F enforcement begins January 1, 2027. The operational prior-authorization decision-timeline requirements have been in effect since January 1, 2026, and the first PA performance metrics deadline passed on March 31, 2026. Procurement cycles for interop tooling typically run 9-12 months. The arithmetic for payers and payer-adjacent vendors is straightforward, and it is tighter than most teams realize.
The pattern we keep seeing: an engineering team has stood up a FHIR endpoint that looks compliant, a CapabilityStatement that parses, and an Implementation Guide they intended to follow. What they do not have is a prioritized list of where their declared profile diverges from the published IG, what each finding maps to under CMS-0057-F or its predecessor CMS-9115-F, and what an auditor will see when they look at the same surface.
That gap is what these engagements close.
What we are launching
Seven offerings, each with a fixed scope, a fixed price, and a fixed timeline. The full catalog is on the new services page, but the headline shape is:
-
Compliance Gap Assessment ($5,000, 5 business days). Tessara probes your public FHIR endpoints, scores them against CMS-0057-F and CMS-9115-F together, and you receive a written report with drift findings categorized using the canonical 6-category taxonomy (Mandatory Element Removal, Type or Cardinality Change, Structural Extension, Auth Deviation, Endpoint Behavioral Change, Spec Version Mismatch). Includes a 1-hour review call. This is the wedge: most teams discover the next three engagements they need by reading this report.
-
Audit Response Prep ($8,500, 2 weeks). Build a defensible evidence narrative before CMS scrutiny lands. Document chain plus a finding remediation log auditors can read in one sitting.
-
CMS Reporting Metrics Wiring ($7,500, 1-2 weeks). Stand up the operational metrics CMS expects, with the data sources wired and a hand-off doc your team owns afterward.
-
Fractional CMS-0057-F SME ($4,500/month). Slack and email plus one monthly call. 5-10 hours per month. Month-to-month, no annual commitment.
-
IG Profile Fitness Check ($2,500, 3 business days). Verify your CapabilityStatement against a specific IG version with a one-page drift report.
-
Vendor Selection Advisory ($3,500, 1 week). Independent comparison of Innovaccer, 1upHealth, Smile Digital Health, or build-internal — recommendation memo with the trade-offs spelled out.
-
Internal Team Training ($2,500/session, 90 minutes). What CMS-0057-F actually requires versus what vendors typically claim, with live Q&A.
How this connects to the product
Engagements run on the same engine our paying customers use. The Compliance Gap Assessment is a productized run of the Tessara probe plus comparator stages, against the same Implementation Guides we maintain in our spec baseline cache. Audit Response Prep ships you the signed evidence baseline (Ed25519, SHA-256 Merkle root, RFC 8785 JCS canonicalization) so the artifacts behind the report are cryptographically verifiable rather than asserted.
We probe only the public /metadata endpoint and the related
CapabilityStatement surface. No PHI is requested or stored for
probe-based engagements. BAAs are available for engagements that may
require them, and we will tell you on the scoping call which engagements
need one.
What this is not
It is not retainers, it is not a full-time advisory seat, and it is not a SaaS subscription dressed up as services. Each engagement has one deliverable, one timeline, and one price. If we cannot deliver against the stated scope on the stated timeline, you receive a full refund. If the scope changes mid-engagement (your call), we re-quote in writing and resume only after you sign off.
The Tessara product itself remains the long-term play — continuous, cryptographically verifiable conformance evidence is what closes the audit loop. These engagements are the entry point for teams who need the answer in days, not quarters.
Get started
Pick the engagement that fits — every service card on the services page routes to a contact form that arrives in our inbox pre-tagged with the engagement and price. We respond within 4 business hours. If you are not sure which one to pick, mention what you are facing and we will recommend.
If you have a CMS letter or a scheduled audit, say so on the form — Audit Response Prep slots are limited and we triage by enforcement exposure.
